With over twenty-five years’ experience in the hunter/jumper industry, Ashley has been successfully competing up and down the east coast since 1992 in both the Grand Prix’s and National Hunter Derbies.
Having trained under Helen Goddard out of Colts Neck, NJ for a majority of her career, she believes in understanding the basics; a strong foundation of flat work, the mechanics of how each horse moves as an individual and it's translation into their overall well-being.
The goal of her program is to educate both the rider and horse in a classical, logical system of training and competition.
Ashley has worked with riders of all ages and their equine partners from green to proven veterans. Students and horses have qualified and/or won top honors at many east coast shows such as HITS Saugerties, HITS Ocala, World Equestrian Center Ocala, Vermont Summer Festival and finals such as NAL, Marshall & Sterling League, Jr. Hunter Finals and USHJA Finals.
Training Rides (Individual or package)
Ashley is dedicated to good horsemanship, safe and successful riding, proper horse management and has the education, experience and intuition to make your horse and you successful. She has the innate ability to form an individualized bond with you as a rider and, more importantly, your horse.
As an adult competitor, she knows how to help me be confident and focused.
Her teaching style is focused, methodical and geared towards understanding the mechanics of riding.
As a horsewoman I trust Ashley without reservation. I never question her recommendations for my horses care, well being or medical needs.
Due to Ashley's commitment, and success with my training, I was invited to a total of four, end of year finals in 2017. With Ashley's excellent advice I placed 2nd in M&S - High Children's Jumper Finals, 4th individually at USHJA Children's Jumper Finals, and 3rd with my Team.
I believe at its core, my success is attributed to Ashley's positive attitude, and patience.
Ashley's lessons are a perfect mix of fun and technical. She gives instruction from both the perspective of the rider and horse, making the connection between the two set in fast and effectively. Outside the ring, she is on top of every detail from start to finish, making any show a truely successful experience.
